Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum requirement for collection? Why?

Yes. For a workplace collection we ask for a minimum of five of the following items: desktops; laptops; servers; switches; mobiles; cameras. As a free service, we need to cover our own costs and the items listed do so. This allows us to remain a free service and continue to operate our business.

Do you take monitors?

Yes we do when they are with at least five items from our main list and the amount of monitors is in line with the volume of those items. This is because monitors cost us to transport with no value return that covers our expenses.

Do you take server rails, monitor arms or other metal items?

While we can take one or two, they really are metal scrap. They require a completely different process and machines that metal scrappers have. Electronics recyclers do not have those machines so have to outsource the recycling.

Why don't you take soft plastics, plastic boxes or cardboard?

We have to pay other companies to take those materials to recycle them so would need to charge you for transportation.

Why don't you take printers or TVs?

At this stage our recycling partners do not take printers or would charge us for it. There are strict government requirements for storing TVs that would greatly increase our warehouse size and costs. As a free service, we can't afford to transport or store them.

Why don't you simply charge for your services so you can take all these other items?

Our facilities are not set up to handle, process or store materials aside from electronics.  if we took these materials from each customer, within a few days we would literally have no room for electronics. We would have to become a completely different company to take this on.
